Clement of Rome. Clement of Rome was an elder/bishop in Rome during the last half of the first century. We do not know a lot about him except that he wrote a letter on behalf of the church of Rome to the church of Corinth, probably very close to A.D. 95. It is called First Clement because tradition holds that he wrote it, but his name is not.
